Autzen
Autzen Stadium in Eugene is modest by the standards of the sport's biggest venues and consistently among its loudest. The design traps noise rather than letting it escape, and visiting teams routinely describe it as harder to play in than stadiums twice its size.
That matters more in the Big Ten than it did in the Pac-12: opponents now arrive after a long trip across multiple time zones, into an environment built to be uncomfortable.

How Oregon changed the look of the sport
Oregon's uniform program, developed from the late 1990s onward, broke the convention that a team wore essentially the same thing every week. The combinations became a recruiting tool and then an identity, and most major programs now do some version of what Oregon started.
It is easy to treat that as trivial. It was not — it was the first widely successful attempt to build a national brand around aesthetics rather than history, at a program that did not have a century of championships to sell.

Contending, not climbing
Oregon opens 2026 ranked second in the AP poll with 14 first-place votes, behind only Ohio State, and the two meet in Columbus in November. Dan Lanning is in a fifth season, and both coordinators were promoted from within after their predecessors left for head coaching jobs.

FAQ
Oregon football questions
Which college football teams are in Oregon?
This site covers the Oregon Ducks, based in Eugene and competing in the Big Ten. Coverage is being expanded program by program.
Why is Autzen Stadium so loud?
Its design contains crowd noise rather than dispersing it, so despite being smaller than many major venues it is regularly described by visiting teams as among the most difficult environments in the sport.
Why does Oregon have so many uniforms?
The program pioneered frequent uniform variation from the late 1990s, using it as a recruiting and branding tool. It has since become common across the sport, but Oregon established the approach.
What conference does Oregon play in?
The Big Ten. Oregon moved from the Pac-12 in the realignment driven by media rights, which added substantial cross-country travel to its conference schedule.
