The Grove
Ole Miss game days are defined as much by what happens outside the stadium as inside it. The Grove is a ten-acre stand of oak trees in the middle of the Oxford campus that fills with tailgating tents on a home Saturday, and it is routinely named the best pregame environment in college football.
The Walk of Champions runs straight through the middle of it: the team passes through the crowd on its way to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, which puts players within arm's reach of supporters a couple of hours before kickoff.
Mississippi
The best season since 1962
Ole Miss went 13-2 in 2025, a program record for wins, reached the College Football Playoff for the first time, and finished third in the final AP poll — its highest ranking in more than sixty years.
It happened through a coaching change. Lane Kiffin left for LSU late in the season, and defensive coordinator Pete Golding took over for the playoff run, beating Tulane and then Georgia before losing a semifinal to Miami. Golding now has the job outright.
Mississippi
A small state that produces
Mississippi has one of the smallest populations of any state with a program at this level, and produces high school football talent well out of proportion to it. Holding that talent against SEC neighbours who recruit the state hard is a constant part of the job in Oxford.
